I am so excited to invite you to the next *Circular Breathwork Journey* on October 5th, 11:30am @ Uprising Yoga Studio in Christchurch. This session is an opportunity to dive deep into your breath, release emotional and physical blockages, and connect with your body in a way that’s both healing and empowering.
*The Origins of My Breathwork Journey* My personal journey with breathwork began 8 years ago when I attended a month-long Clarity Breathwork practitioner training in Bali. This experience was truly life-changing and gave me a profound understanding of how breath can be used as a tool for emotional, mental, and physical transformation. Clarity Breathwork is a gentle yet powerful form of conscious, connected breathing that helps people release stress, trauma, and stuck emotional energy. Its roots can be traced back to the early days of Rebirthing Breathwork, a practice developed in the 1970s that focused on using conscious breathing to heal past wounds and activate deeper states of awareness. As this approach evolved, Clarity Breathwork emerged, incorporating elements of somatic healing and spiritual awakening. Today, it is recognized as a powerful healing modality that works directly with the nervous system to bring about lasting change.
During my training in Bali, I learned the deep history of Clarity Breathwork and its powerful impact on the body and mind. Under the guidance of experienced practitioners, I spent countless hours breathing, processing, and integrating everything that arose. We shared in daily Kirtan, meditation, dance & connective exercises, surrounded by local flowers & supportive hearts. I delved deeply into the incredible benefits of nervous system regulation through breath. I experienced firsthand how consciously guiding the breath can calm the body, shift emotional states, and release patterns that no longer serve us. I knew straight away that sharing breathwork was my purpose.
*The Power of Breathwork in Nervous System Regulation* One of the core benefits of circular breathwork is its ability to regulate the nervous system. The breath acts as a bridge between the mind and body, and through conscious, connected breathing, we can shift our nervous system out of a state of stress or fight-or-flight into a state of calm and relaxation. This is especially important in our fast-paced modern lives, where many of us spend so much time in high-stress, reactive modes. When we breathe in a circular pattern, we send signals to the brain that it is safe to relax. This helps the body move from a state of heightened alertness to a state of rest and healing, activating the parasympathetic nervous system. Over time, regular breathwork practice can help retrain the nervous system to respond to stress in healthier ways, making it easier to stay calm, grounded, and centered even in challenging situations.
*Why Circular Breathwork?* Unlike traditional breathwork techniques, circular breathwork involves continuous, connected breathing without pauses between inhales and exhales. This rhythmic flow of breath helps bypass the conscious mind and access deeper layers of the subconscious, where emotional and energetic blockages are stored. By releasing these blockages, we can experience emotional healing, enhanced clarity, and a deeper connection to ourselves. During our breathwork journey, I will guide you through this process in a safe and supportive environment, helping you release old patterns, reset your nervous system, and find new levels of peace and relaxation. Whether you are new to breathwork or have been practicing for years, this session is open to all, and I encourage you to join me for what will be a powerful and healing experience.
*The Upcoming Session: What to Expect* Our session on October 5th will last for approximately 2 hours, beginning with a brief introduction to circular breathwork and setting intentions for the journey ahead. We will then move into the breathing practice, where you will be guided to connect with your breath in a continuous, flowing rhythm. Throughout the session, I will provide support and guidance, ensuring you feel safe and held as you move through the experience. After the breathing portion, we will have time for integration, where you can process and reflect on the insights or emotional releases that arose during the practice. We will close the session with a sharing circle, where you are welcome to share your experience or simply listen and hold space for others.
*The Impact of Breathwork in My Life and Yours* Since that first training in Bali, I have continued to deepen my own practice and guide others on their journey of self-discovery through breathwork. The results I’ve witnessed—both in myself and in those I work with—are profound. People report feeling lighter, more connected, and more at peace after just one session. They experience less anxiety, improved emotional regulation, and a greater sense of resilience in the face of life’s challenges. For me, breathwork has become a key tool in regulating my emotions, helping me stay non-reactive, calm, and grounded. It has also supported me in healing childhood traumas and releasing deep-seated patterns that no longer serve me. Every session is unique and unpredictable, and I continue to be surprised by the layers of insight and healing that come through. I am so grateful to share this practice with others and to witness the incredible transformations that happen when we fully embrace the breath.
